Congrats Matt Johnson!

THE ROYAL WE's beloved MATT JOHNSON scooped up an award at this years ENCY Awards.

The ECNY Awards are a fast growing awards ceremony celebrating the Emerging Comics of NY. This years show was held at Comix comedy club on January 28th at 8PM and it was bigger than ever. There was a red carpet and press coverage and everything!

Fun Fact: THE ROYAL WE was nominated for Best Sketch Group in the 2004 ECNY Awards, but sadly, WE didn't win.

This year, MATT and collaborator/photographer Keith Huang were nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Flyer or Postcard Design for the amazing one-sheet they did for The Apple Sisters...and it frickin' won...because it's great!

And let it be noted The Apple Sisters also took home the gold at the ECNY's for Best Musical Comedy Act! Congrats!

WE are Not Alone

When The Royal We formed in 2002, and we finally picked a group name, ["Produce Humor" was in the running] WE thought we had the coolest, most unique name around. THE ROYAL WE. WE loved our group name.

Apparently other groups around the world did as well.

There was the jam band, from Asheville, NC, known as The Royal We.

The band The Hot IQ's used to be called The Royal We.

There is a new glam rock/screamo band from the UK who go by the name The Royal We.

A band from upstate, NY also shares the moniker The Royal We.

Yet another band called The Royal We, this time from Berlin. or maybe its England...

Some Hip-Hop created by a band of robots from Lansing, Michigan is called The Royal We.

BUT IT'S not just bands that are catching "WE-Fever," or "We-ver"

WE have to deal with the Nintendo Wii.

Even a midwest High School improv group shares the name The Royal We.

WILL NUNZIATA is apparently the twin brother of one Anthony Nunziata and this other Will already has Broadway credit. Here. He's also a gifted singer and track star.

JERRY MILLER is not only an amazing frontman to the Jerry Miller Band, but he also recently became the 200th person in the U.S. exonerated through DNA evidence...and he's also African-American.

LAUREN ANTLER is also...well, she's just our little LAUREN. Lucky.
