The Royal We came...We Saw...We Lost. Sketchfights that is.
Last night at 11PM, The Royal We battled sketch group OLDE ENGLISH in Sketchfights at the Peoples Improv Theater. While the WE put up a good fight, using only all our brand new Christmas Material, we were trumped by OE.
OE won using the 4 tenents of Winning Sketch Battles:
1. Using the Royal We's names in a sketch.
2. Giving Candy to the audience.
3. Being Funny and tight.
4. Packing the goddamn house!
Congrats OE, wear the crown proudly...and pray to your lord and god that I'm not a judge for your next Sketch Fights battle in January! Oh, cause I'm bitter!
Not really...I will be a fair and impartial judge...but don't doubt me...I will JUDGE the shit out of you.
Moving on....
So yea, 2005 ended with a loss, but The WE had an amazing 2005. We toured the country, we received great praise from reputable sources like Timeout Ny and Flavorpill for our revue "Be all that you Buy," we got paid a good chunk of change for a corporate gig, we sold some short films to SA! (www.get-sa.com), We won a few sketch fights, we put up our first Christmas show and came out with a buncha cool Holiday scenes, we got 100's of thousands of hits on our site, WE all learned to read, we grew as people and as a group and we made some strides and leaps and bounds on the business side and are in touch with a slew of "TV people."
To end my 2005, I'd just like to thank my fellow members of the Royal We and our director, Kevin Scott, for making me a better performer every time I work with you, and filling my life with love and beauty. You guys are my second family...thanks! 3.5 years and running!
And to all the people and fans and friends and family who came out to our shows in any way shape our form...you guys are the best, if it wasn't for you, WE'd just be making each other laugh. You guys are the reason we do this. Thanks.
Expect big things from the WE in 2006.

This morning The Royal We's patriarch, Matt Johnson, forwarded around a link to what the kids today refer to as a "blog."
This blog, written by a college student, reads as follows:
