Dear people of New Orleans,
The Royal We has a pretty long wish list. We've been keeping our fingers crossed ever since we applied to the Aspen Comedy Festival and the Montreal Comedy Festival, and what the heck, the New HBO Vegas Festival. Rather than counting sheep, we count the days and miles between now and a Perrier Prize in Edinburgh. But these aren't our biggest dreams and wishes.
No, our biggest dreams and wishes, like all comedians, involve syndication, and a cult fan base large enough to sustain national tours and a couple of misguided forays into feature film. We don't care if they're called Royalists or The Royal Wegions, just as long as they'll still be looking for an autograph when we're between royalty checks.
As you can see, these are pretty big dreams and wishes, and we're really only telling you about them now because your safety and health, and the speedy return of your city to normal, have cut to the front of the line as far as our wishes go.
That's why we're asking people who read this to make a donation to the Red Cross.
